Atotech is one of the leading providers of integrated production systems in the areas of decorative and functional surface coating, as well as the manufacture of semiconductors and printed circuit boards. In addition to the core areas GMF (surface refinement) and electronics (printed circuit board technology), other areas such as electronic materials (materials for the manufacture of printed circuit boards) and semiconductor technology play an increasingly important role. With its head office in Berlin and subsidiaries in all important industry regions in Asia, the USA and Europe, ATOTECH is an international company employing approx. 3,300 staff in over 40 countries.
Electric diagrams from E3.series are to be integrated into the spare parts catalogue system from 2010/2011.
As an interface, jointly developed by Zuken, provider of E3.series, and Docware, exists for connecting PARTS-PUBLISHER and E3.series, a fully automated solution was able to be implemented for the desired integration of electric circuit diagrams in the catalogue system (paper and CD catalogues) without great effort and expense.
The interface works as a plug-in at the ElectroCAD system. Circuit diagrams and components, as well as information on their representation and ordering details, are adopted automatically from E3.series to the PARTS-PUBLISHER workbench, where they are integrated directly to the automated catalogue creation. In the process all information necessary for effective navigation in the electrical documentation is used. With just a few mouse clicks an information platform is formed which supports mechanics and electrics. Mechanical components and electric circuit diagrams are partially linked.
Navigation is done via the circuit plan directory, component IDs and interactive circuit diagrams, which have hotspots on the components and on the break points of the individual diagrams. Mechanical and electrical components can be ordered directly from the catalogue using a common shopping cart.
The schematics viewer of the PARTS-PUBLISHER spare parts catalogue (CD/DVD, Internet) offers numerous features which provide excellent support in electrical fault elimination including signal monitoring:
